The area of the May Alice is underlain by basalt and andesite of the Eocene Marron Formation, Penticton Group. Sedimentary rocks of the Triassic Brooklyn Formation and the Devonian to Permian Knob Hill Group are mapped in the region. Property descriptions indicate that besides the intermediate to mafic Marron volcanics; limestone, conglomerate, arkose, sandstone and minor tuff are also present.
In 1967, the May Alice 1 to 8 were optioned to Silver Standard Mines Limited from Richrock Mines Lted. An induced polarization survery and 100 metres of percussion drilling in two holes were done after which the option was dropped. Some copper mineralization in skarn is reported to occur.
In 1979, J.C. Stephen Explorations Ltd prospected the Deadwood one claim which government reports indicated to be in the area of the original May Alice occurrence. The company collected 267 soil samples. No mineralization was found.
During 2008 through 2012, Grizzly Discoveries Inc. completed programs of geochemical sampling, geological mapping and ground geophysical surveys on the area as the Greenwood property.
