Capsule Geology

Galena, pyrite and pyrrhotite occur in and around quartz veins in phyllitic schists surrounded by granite. Disseminated copper is present in altered granite.

Mineralization was reported by the Alwin Mining Company in 1971 when they conducted a magnetometer survey over their Bat claims.

In 1986, Noranda Exploration Company Ltd. held in a large land position call the Sappho 83 group but apparenty concentrated work on a grid to the west of the old Bat area.
