The area is underlain by sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Mississippian to Jurassic Bridge River Complex (Group). On the property, the Bridge River Complex is represented by argillite, greenstone and chert, which is locally pyritic. Locally, mineralization occurs in two shear zones within a pyritized chert and consists of massive, 0.4 metre diameter by 0.10 to 0.15 metre thick, stibnite, arsenopyrite and pyrite, generally as veins and fracture fillings. Wallrock alteration to the veins consists of carbonate (commonly ankeritic), mariposite and quartz (listwanite), usually as veinlets. The first shear zone varies from 0.1 to 0.5 metres in width and has been exposed over 17 metres along strike. It strikes at 330 degrees and dips 10 to 20 degrees south west. The second shear zone varies from 0.05 to 0.40 metres in width and has been exposed over 17 metres along strike. It strikes at 030 degrees and dips 50 to 60 degrees to the north west. In 1987, chip samples taken across the first shear zone assayed up to 18.8 grams per tonne gold, 2.1 grams per tonne silver and 5.2 per cent antimony, while a grab sample yielded 0.39 per cent antimony, 5.75 grams per tonne gold and 145.0 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 16637). Chip samples from the second shear zone yielded values up to 0.20 per cent antimony, 7.25 grams per tonne gold and 52.0 grams per tonne silver over 1 metre (Assessment Report 16637). In 1981, a program of airborne geophysical surveys was completed on the area. In 1983 and 1984, Newmont completed programs of geochemical sampling and geological mapping on the area as the Ranger 1-4 claims. During 1985 through 1988, Levon Resources completed programs of trenching, rock and soil sampling and airborne geophysical surveys on the area. During 1985 through 1987, Hoyle Resources completed programs of rock and soil sampling, geological mapping and trenching on the area as the LJ claim.
