The Sloko Coal occurrence is located just south of Sloko Lake, about 55 kilometres south of the community of Atlin.
Coal seams less than 1.5 centimetres thick occur interbedded with Early Eocene Sloko Group sandstone south of Sloko Lake. The sedimentary beds have very limited lateral extent. The quality of the coal is reported to be very good (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1908).
Float coal was found near the southeastern summit of the Sloko Mountains and at a point to the northeast of and overlooking the lower east end of Sloko Lake (Geological Survey of Canada Summary Report 1910).
