The G8 (Pallen North) occurrence is located on a southwest facing slope, approximately 6.5 kilometres south west of Hluey Lake.
The area is underlain by limestone, marble and calcareous sedimentary rocks of the Lower Permian Stikine Assemblage, Middle Triassic undivided volcanic rocks and undivided volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group which have been intruded by an Early Jurassic quartz monzonite.
Locally, a calcareous(?) host rock contains 1 to 2 per cent disseminated chalcopyrite and local clots of very fine-grained pyrite. The calcareous(?) host has a true width of approximately 15 metres and is enclosed with in a hornfelsed mafic volcanic unit containing 1 to 5 per cent disseminated pyrite. Later work identified a potassium feldspar altered diorite and monzonite, extending over an east-west distance of approximately 350 metres, containing magnetite, pyrite and chalcopyrite, while nearby gabbros and basalts contain localized zones of quartz-carbonate veining hosting variable amounts of pyrite, chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite.
In 2011, Finsbury Exploration Ltd carried out exploration over the Property as part of a soil and silt sampling program over a much larger 168,983 hectare property area known as the Galaxie property. Two rock samples yielded values of 0.134 and 0.105 per cent copper, respectively (Bowen, B.K. (2012-07-30): Technical Report on the Galaxie Project).
In 2012, Quartz Mountain Resources Ltd, on the Galaxie property, conducted systematic soil and IP surveys over eight high-priority grids and two target areas identified by the 2011 stream sediment and soil geochemical results. This work included an IP survey over almost the entirety of title 512878 and the southeastern third of title 604847. A sample (966967) of the mineralized diorite yielded 0.253 per cent copper and 0.005 per cent molybdenum, while samples (966953 and 966964) of quartz-carbonate veined volcanics yielded up to 0.531 gram per tonne gold, 32.7 grams per tonne silver, 0.285 per cent copper, 0.161 per cent lead and 6.903 per cent zinc (Bowen, B.K. (2013-04-30): Technical Report on the Galaxie Project).
