The Jade Fever occurrence is located about 2 kilometres east of the shoreline of Dease Lake, 36 kilometres north of the community of Dease Lake.

In 2011, a trenching program was conducted to determine the location of the contact zone between Upper Mississippian to Permian serpentinite (Cache Creek Complex) and metasedimentary rocks of the Mississippian to Triassic Kedahda Formation (Cache Creek Complex) in an effort to explore for in situ deposits of nephrite jade.

A rock sample (01B2) from trench TR01/11 taken from the edge of the serpentinite assayed 0.24 per cent nickel and 0.11 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 32861).

Work History

In 1963, a large nephrite-jade boulder was found on the roadside where a culvert had been built for Seywerd Creek beneath the Cassiar-Stewart highway (Highway 37N).

In 2007 and 2009, Dynasty Jade Ltd. completed limited prospecting their Dorothy Creek and Dynasty claims (Assessment Report 29457, 30807) near the Jade Fever occurrence (104J 066).

In 2011, Donald Bunce conducted work on the Jade Fever 4 claim. He excavated 5 trenches (TR01/11 to TR05/11) totalling 26.5 metres, collected 10 rock samples for analysis and constructed 1.1 kilometres of trail. One sample #01B2 in trench TR01/11 yielded high values of nickel at 0.25 per cent nickel and 0.12 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 32861).

In 2012, Donald Bunce excavated 4 trenches (TR06/12 to TR09/12) totalling 26.5 metres, collected 10 rock samples for analysis and constructed of the 0.3 kilometres of trail taken on the Jade Fever 4 claim. Assay results of the serpentinite samples indicated localized anomalous nickel, copper, cobalt, and manganese mineralization.

In 2013, Donald Bunce excavated 3 trenches (TR10/13, TR11/13, TR12/13) totalling 17.5 metres on the Jade Fever 6 claim and collected 15 rock samples for analysis. A total of 0.8 kilometres of trail construction was completed.

In 2014, Donald Bunce excavated 5 trenches (TR13/14 through TR17/14) totalling 24.6 metres on the Jade Fever 5 claim, collected 35 rock float samples for analysis. A total of 0.3 kilometres of road access construction was completed.

In 2015, Donald Bunce conducted an exploration program on the Jade Fever 5 claim consisting of the excavation of 5 trenches (TR18/15 to TR22/15) totaling 18.2 metres. A total of 21 rock float samples and three outcrop grab samples were taken for analysis.

In 2016, a work program on the Jade Fever 5 tenure, just west of the Jade Fever (104J 066) occurrence, consisted of 324 metres of exploration trail construction, 32.2 metres of excavation in 5 trenches (TR23/16 to TR 27/16) and a lithogeochemical survey in which 68 rock grab samples were taken of outcrops, trenches and from glacial till rock and subsequently sent for analysis.

In 2017, Donald Bunce conducted an exploration program on his Black Creek Property adjacent south of his Jade Fever 4 and 5 claims. The program consisted of prospecting and the collection of 77 rock grab samples for analysis, with three rock grab samples sent for thin section analysis. The property was located just south of the Jade Fever MINFILE plot. Bunce also collected. 52 rocks from his Jade 4 and 5 claims and a completed 0.7 kilometres of trail construction.
