The Bak occurrence is located 1.25 kilometres east of Dease Lake and about 2 kilometres northeast of Nine Mile Point, approximately 20 kilometres north of the community of Dease Lake.

At the showing, asbestos occurs in serpentinized peridotite. Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2779 indicates the area is underlain by upper Mississippian to Permian generally serpentinized peridotite, dunite and pyroxenite of the Cache Creek Complex.
