The VI property is located approximately 25 kilometres northwest of Telegraph Creek in northwestern British Columbia.
The showing is underlain by Upper Triassic Stuhini Group feldspar porphyry, augite porphyry basalt flows, tuff and argillite which have been intruded by a Late Triassic and Early Jurassic diorite to granodiorite stock.
A biotite-hornblende quartz diorite to granodiorite outcrop is sericite altered and is stained with malachite. Previous exploration (Assessment Report 3972) states that "some chalcopyrite and pyrite was observed in both plutonic and volcanic rocks".
An historic float sample from the east side of Canyon Creek (about 1.7 kilometres south-southeast of the VI showing) consisted of feldspar-porphyritic volcanics with disseminated pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite and a copper value of 0.23 per cent copper (Assessment Report 21209, Figure 4).
In 1972, the VI 1-51 claims were held by Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada Ltd. and a geochemical soil survey (331 samples) covering 22 claims was carried out. In 1981, DuPont of Canada Exploration Limited staked the Halt claim, an area which is now mostly occupied by the JC 5 claim, to cover the drainage of an unnamed creek. The follow-up program on the Halt claim consisted of geological mapping along with rock, soil and stream sediment sampling. A 1990 exploration program on the JC 1-5 claims consisted of geological mapping, prospecting and stream sediment sampling and was conducted on behalf of Pass Lake Resources Ltd. and Golden Sitka Resources Inc.
In 2014, Alix Resources Corp. completed a preliminary program of geological mapping, soil and rock geochemistry sampling and prospecting on two areas of the South Fork property, including the VI (104J026) and Halt (104J 058) showings. In 2014 in the VI area, a limited soil sampling program on the northern portion of the property yielded an anomalous value of 56 ppb gold and 158 ppm copper (Assessment Report 34953). In total ten soil samples were taken and 6 samples returned in excess of 100 ppm copper, and of those, 3 samples returned plus 150 ppm copper (Assessment Report 34953). Previous work compiled from assessment reports by Alix Resources were reported to indicate other additional gold and copper soil anomalous targets. Two rock samples taken in the VI area in 2014 were not significant.
