Capsule Geology

The Cob 2 showing is underlain by Pennsylvanian sedimentary rock of the Stikine Assemblage. The assemblage is intruded by Paleocene to Eocene granite and alkali feldspar granite of the Sloko-Hyder Plutonic Suite in contact a few kilometres to the west, and granodiorite of the Early Jurassic Cone Mountain Plutonic Suite, in contact with the Stikine rocks a few kilometres to the north and south.

Sample Q923655 is a sample of breccia outcrop with iron oxide staining and possible carbonate alteration. This sample was taken in an area where property-maps of the Cob grid indicate the contact of deformed limestone with a unit comprising calcareous siltstone underlaying phylitic slate. Sericite, pyrite, silica alteration occurs in the sitlstone unit as do limestone lenses. The geology map shows the sample to be just within the deformed limestone unit. The sample assayed 326 grams per tonne silver, 3.52 per cent lead, 0.15 per cent zinc, 0.069 gram per tonne gold, 0.053 per cent arsenic, 0.046 antimony, 0.009 per cent copper and 0.004 per cent molybdenum (Sample Q923655, Assessment Report 35895).

In 2013, IMGM International Mining Inc. staked the Phacops claims, totalling 163.48 square kilometres, located about 10 kilometres south of Telegraph Creek. In 2014, a 45-day field season resulted in the collection 103 silt samples and 110 rock samples mainly at the northern part of Phacops Property and included a cursory mapping of all 10 Phacops claims. Three prospective areas were defined, the Devils Elbow (104G 012), the Apex area (Cob) 104G 013), and the Phacops Mountain and Butterfly Mountain areas, on the southern part of the Phacops property.

In 2015, IMGM International Mining Inc. collected 591 soils over much of the Cob grid (Phacops property) which is 850 metres east-west by 4.3 kilometres north-south, totalling 3.66 square kilometres in area. They also collected 102 rock samples and 18 thin section samples. Mapping was completed on a 1:10,000 scale

In 2016, IMGM International Mining Inc. expanded the Cob grid/area one kilometre east along its entire north-south length. They collected 444 soils over an expanded Cob grid/area (Phacops property). They also collected 102 rock samples and 18 thin section samples. Mapping was completed on a 1:10,000 scale. Focus was on the V-3 zone (Dev 3 (104G 334) which yielded a number of mineralized samples in 2016 with high silver, copper, lead and zinc assays. In 2016, the 2015 Cob soil grid was expanded to the east at the most norther part of the grid. A number of exploration soil lines were also completed throughout the Cob area.

See Apex (104G 013), Dev 4NW (104G 332), Dev 7410 (104G 333) and Dev 3 (104G 334) for related geological and work history details.
