The Gache Creek showing area is underlain volcanic and sedimentary rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group and by Devonian to Permian metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks of the Stikine Assemblage. The stratigraphy is intruded by Early Jurassic granodiorite of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite to the southwest and Eocene granite of the Major Hart Plutonic Suite to the northeast.
A 50 centimetre wide shear zone with disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization was sampled during the 1989 field season on the west side of Gache creek at approximately the 250 metre elevation. Grab sample 463075 yielded 2.95 grams per tonne gold and 1.06 per cent copper from a 10 centimetre wide zone of fault gouge in lapilli tuffs (Assessment Report 19890). The fault strikes 150 degrees and dips 60 degrees to the northeast.
