Capsule Geology

The Saddlehorn showing area is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The stratigraphy is intruded Early Jurassic monzodiorite to gabbro of the Texas Creek Plutonic Suite.

Several milky white quartz veins trending 100 degrees/80 degrees north dip were noted in malachite stained greenstones. The veins are up to 10 centimetres wide at outcrop, often bifurcate and are discontinuous after 6 metres. One rock sample contained 0.25 per cent copper, 5.06 grams per tonne gold and 3.7 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 20728).

Work History

The Saddlehorn property was staked in 1987 to cover a 236 ppb gold silt anomaly. During the 1988 field season, Cominco Ltd. spent 12 man days and collected 218 soil and 15 rock samples.

In 1990 Solomon Resources Ltd. entered an option agreement with Cominco Ltd. Work by Solomon in 1990 included prospecting the area outlined by Cominco as gold anomalous. Twelve rock, six soil and two silt samples were collected. A total of four man days were spent on the property.
