The Glacier 2 area is underlain by Lower Permian limestone of the Stikine Assemblage and Triassic volcanic and sedimentary rock, including that of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The stratigraphy is intruded by Late Triassic to Early Jurassic stocks such as that identified in the Galore Creek area to the west as the Copper Mountain Plutonic Suite.

In 1990, prospector J. Ruza blasted trenches in gossanous zones in volcanic and sedimentary rocks containing pyrites and copper minerals. Nine dynamited trenches on the Glacier and Glacier 1-2 claims totalling 26 meters in length were excavated. Twelve rock samples were taken from the trenches and were analyzed.

Trenches 7 to 9 were grouped in one discrete area on the Glacier claim. Trench 7, sample Glacier2-2 of gossanous volcanic rock assayed 0.89 per cent copper, 5.6 grams per tonne silver and 1 part per billion gold (Assessment Report 21079).

The area is presently held by Novagold Canada Inc who has been developing the nearby Copper Canyon deposit (104G 017).
