The area of the Fishhook Lake showing is underlain by marine sedimentary and volcanic rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The area is intruded by rock of the Early Jurassic Texas Creek pluton.
Stream sediment sampling in 1989 (by Gigi Resources) from the creek draining Fishhook Lake found this creek to be anomalous in zinc as well as copper, silver and gold (samples 459915-459920). Prospecting along this creek in 1990 by Gigi located one sample (32142) of cherty sediments with 2 to 3 per cent pyrite and 0.48 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 21061).
