The area of the Barney showing is underlain by a major north-trending thrust fault as well as a thin wedge of sediments, consisting of siltstones, limestones, and argillites of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. Elsewhere on the property, these sediments are commonly graphitic or pyritic, causing a strong VLF/EM signature. Several small and discontinuous fault-related breccias were sampled along this creek. Grab sample 32719 of one such exposure, 0.2 metre wide by 2.0 metres long and striking 015 degrees/80 degrees east, assayed 2.19 grams per tonne gold with geochemical values of 152.57 grams per tonne silver, 0.025 per cent copper, 0.23 per cent lead, 0.15 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 21061). The mineralization is comprised of iron oxides and hydrozincite with 5 to 10 per cent pyrite.
