Pennsylvanian Stikine Assemblage limestones host thin quartz veins containing pyrite, pyrrhotite and minor sphalerite. Sediments are in contact with Early Jurassic granodioritic intrusive rock of the Cone Mountain Plutonic Suite.
A 1989 sample of the vein material graded 0.32 per cent copper, 14.3 per cent zinc, 6.3 grams per tonne silver, 0.12 per cent cadmium, and 0.053 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 20002). Argillites contain disseminated pyrite veinlets but no assay results have been reported.
Work History
In 1989, a preliminary prospecting and sampling program on the property on behalf of Sarabat Gold Corporation. During the program, a total of 8 stream sediment samples and 20 rock samples were taken (Assessment Report 20002).
In 1990, a prospecting, mapping and sampling program was conducted on the property by Sarabat Gold. During this program, 20 rock samples, 1 soil sample and 8 stream sediment samples were collected. Several more samples were taken in the immediate area of the 1989 samples, notably sample 90G-12-W6 that assayed 1.55 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 20002).
