The Fraser Creek occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 310 metres near a north east flowing tributary of Bronson Creek and approximately 2.2 kilometres south-southeast of the junction of Bronson Creek and the Iskut River.
The area is underlain by a sequence of folded and faulted andesitic volcanic and clastic sedimentary rock units of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. The sequences of clastic layered rocks consist of volcanic wackes, andesitic flows, and argillite interbeds. The sedimentary and volcanic rocks have been intruded by monzodioritic to gabbroic rocks of the Triassic to Jurassic Iskut River (Bronson) Stock.
Locally, the type of mineralization is not described but is likely similar to or related to the nearby Bronson Slope (MINFILE 104B 077) occurrence.
In 2011, two chip samples (SP11-6-25-5 and SP11-6-25-3) from a trench or trenches assayed 12.55 and 3.5 grams per tonne gold, 122 and 188 grams per tonne silver, 0.34 and 0.90 per cent copper, 0.12 and 0.25 per cent lead with 0.19 and 5.36 per cent zinc, respectively, over 0.15 metre each (Burgoyne, A.A. (2012-05-07): Technical Report on The Iskut Property with Special Reference to Johnny Flats & Burnie Trend Target). Also at this time, two rock samples (L991965 and L991957), taken approximately 350 metres to the south east, yielded 2.7 and 1.4 grams per tonne gold, 124 and 139 grams per tonne silver, 5.40 and 3.01 per cent copper, 9.86 and 7.03 per cent lead with 2.09 and 2.99 per cent zinc, respectively (Burgoyne, A.A. (2012-05-07): Technical Report on The Iskut Property with Special Reference to Johnny Flats & Burnie Trend Target).
Work History
The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby Bronson Slope (MINFILE 104B 077) occurrence and a complete regional exploration history can be found there.
During 2009 through 2011, Skyline Gold Corp. completed programs of prospecting, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling, trenching, airborne and ground geophysical surveys and 23 diamond drill holes, totalling 5676 metres, on the area as the Iskut property.
