The Sun property is underlain by fine-grained to clastic sediments of the Middle to Upper Jurassic Bowser Lake Group. Local, discontinuous and barren quartz veins, which are hosted by greywackes, yielded silver values of up to 17.5 grams per tonne (Assessment Report 21011). These veins are typically less than 15 centimetres wide, although one was measured at 3.0 metres. Quartz vein float material collected from three locations within the property yielded silver values ranging from 31.5 to 45.7 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 21011). These boulders were not traced back to their source at the time of their finding.
In 1990, Canadian Cariboo Resources Ltd carried out geological, geochemical and prospecting surveys across the Sun 1-4 claims. This work included soil (90), silt (9) and rock (5) sampling along compassed and flagged reconnaissance lines.
