The Ravel NE area is underlain by a sequence of folded and faulted upper Triassic andesitic volcanic and clastic sedimentary rock units of the Stuhini Group. The sequences of clastic layered rocks consist of volcanic wackes, andesitic flows, and argillite interbeds.
A 10 to 30 centimetre wide limonitic zone (126 degrees/130 degrees southwest) with 20 to 30 per cent disseminated pyrrhotite and pyrite and minor quartz stringers assayed 18.21 grams per tonne gold, 40.11 grams per tonne silver, 0.19 per cent copper, 0.05 per cent lead and 0.36 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 21219, Table 11). This zone was traced for over 5 metres in sandstone.
Two other pyritic quartz veins, from 5 to 10 centimetres in width occur a few hundred metres southwest and south; assay values, respectively, were 4.83 grams per tonne gold, 7.54 grams per tonne silver, 0.15 per cent copper and 0.7 per cent zinc; and 3.08 grams per tonne gold and 5.83 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 21219, Table 11).
Exploration in 1990 and 1991 by Soloman Resources Ltd. (Soloman) entailed geological mapping and the collection of 336 soil, 2 silt, and 494 rock grab samples over the southern Ridge grid, as well as, the Handel, Chopin I and II claims (Assessment Report 21219). Prospecting and sampling yielded a number of new showings.
