The area of the Founders Hill 3 showing is underlain by rocks of the Lower Jurassic Betty Creek Formation (Hazelton Group). These rocks comprise green, red, purple and black volcanic breccia, conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone and tuff. They strike north-northeast and lie on the west limb of the faulted, north-northeast trending American Creek anticline.
A sample was collected from a white quartz carbonate vein from 1 to 5 centimetres thick and containing some areas of wall rock inclusions up to 2 centimetres. Limonitic staining occurs on about 40 per cent of the of the vein. The hostrock is an intermediate volcanic rock. The sample assayed 1.08 grams per tonne gold, 2.37 grams per tonne silver, 0.15 per cent copper, 0.546 per cent lead, and 0.954 per cent zinc (Sample B055103), Assessment Report 37443).
In 2017, Pretium Exploration conducted grass roots prospecting, sampling and mapping on their Bowser property, mostly southwest and south of Bowser Lake; 2901 rock and 429 silt samples were collected (Assessment Reports 37435, 37443).
See Betty (104A 008) for details of relevant work done on the Bowser property besides the 2017 discovery work, including significant property-wide geophysical surveys.
