The Bluffy 2 showing is underlain by Middle to Upper Jurassic undivided sedimentary rocks of the Hazelton Group.
The Bluffy 2 zone consists of quartz-calcite veining over a meter wide with a 0.5 metre thick vein. Textures include vein swarms and brecciated wallrock fragments. The vein is strongly mineralized with blebs (up to 1 centimetre) of galena, chalcopyrite, malachite. Sample B066202 assayed 1.70 grams per tonne gold, 2,730 grams per tonne silver, 0.5 per cent copper, 3.56 per cent lead, and 2.7 per cent zinc (Assessment Reports 37443). The nearest country rock described from another sample about 200 metres away is mudstone/argillite.
In 2017, Pretium Exploration conducted grass roots prospecting, sampling and mapping on their Bowser property, mostly southwest and south of Bowser Lake. They collected 2901 rock and 429 silt samples (Assessment Reports 37435, 37443). The Bluffy 2 showing resulted from this work.
See Betty (104A 008) for details of a common work history of the Bowser property, specifically for information on relevant airborne geophysical surveys completed by Pretium prior to 2017 that would have covered the Bluffy 2/Betty area.
