The Hoan South showing is located approximately 19.9 kilometres southwest of Kitsault near the upper reaches of Hoan Creek. Access to the property is by helicopter.
The Hoan South property is underlain by Middle Jurassic to Upper Cretaceous Bowser Lake Group rocks consisting of interbedded greywacke and argillite along with minor conglomerate and limestone. The units have been intruded by porphyritic quartz monzonite of the Eocene Alice Arm Plutonic Suite. Well-bedded greywackes and shales were noted with minimal quartz veining and trace sulphides. Gossanous sediments were noted at lower elevations; mineralization in these gossans consists of pyrite, pyrrhotite and molybdenite associated with quartz veins, veinlets and fractures.
Although molybdenite was identified in several samples of quartz-veined sediments, assay results are generally low. The best rock sample (07RLP124) assayed 0.01 per cent molybdenum and comprised a fine grained, silicified, dark grey-brown sediment with coarse, vuggy quartz veining. Several rock samples assayed 2-3 grams per tonne silver; sample 07RLP114 of a rusty sediment assayed 12 grams per tonne silver and 0.88 per cent tungsten (Assessment Report 29962).
In 2007, Tenajon Resources Corp. completed two half-days prospecting and collected 23 samples.
