The Tarn (Ridge) occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1780 metres near the north end of a north-south–trending ridge, approximately 3.3 kilometres north of the east end of Kadah Lake.

The area is underlain by a thick succession of Lower Jurassic volcanics of the Toodoggone Formation (Hazelton Group). To the east intrusive rocks of the Lower Jurassic Black Lake Stock are exposed.

Locally, hematite quartz-carbonate breccias and/or limonitic quartz vein stockworks host gold and silver values.

In 1981, rock samples (71146 and 71147) from the area yielded 8.18 and 3.25 grams per tonne gold with 40.0 and 67.7 grams per tonne silver, respectively (Assessment Report 9833).

In 1983, rock samples (26821) yielded up to 10.60 grams per tonne gold and 54.4 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 11843).

In 1994, a chip sample (145545) yielded 12.51 grams per tonne gold, 86.4 grams per tonne silver and 0.115 per cent lead over 0.5 metre (Assessment Report 23663).

In 2013, a float sample (1709412) of argillically altered volcanic with trace pyrite assayed 0.96 gram per tonne gold and 25.7 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 34762).

Work History

Recent work history on the JD property included rock and large-scale soil sampling in 2012 by Tower Resources and aeromagnetic surveying by Duran Ventures in 2008. A few rocks samples were collected in the Tarn area, where Tower also identified a new gold-silver soil anomaly.
