Capsule Geology

The Pil 28-30 occurrence is located on an east-facing slope, approximately 2.5 kilometres south-southwest of Mount Graves.

The area is underlain by quartz monzonite of the early Jurassic Black Lake Intrusive Suite that is in contact with Lower Jurassic andesites of the Toodogone Formation (Hazelton Group) to the west and undivided Lower to Middle Jurassic sediments and volcanics of the Hazelton Group on the east.

Locally, a chloritized and epidotized monzonite hosts pyrite and malachite.

In 1996, a rock sample (LPJ-1) assayed 0.398 gram per tonne gold, greater than 200 grams per tonne silver and greater than 1.00 per cent copper (Assessment Report 25054).
