The BB Northwest occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1880 metres on a northeast-trending ridge, west of Fredrickson Creek and approximately 7.5 kilometres east-northeast of the northern end of Fredrickson Lake, about 171 kilometres north-northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.
Regionally, the area lies in the eastern margin of the northern portion of the Quesnel Trough and is underlain by a north-northwest trending band of Devonian to Permian volcanic rocks; marine sedimentary and volcanic rocks of the Pennsylvanian to Permian Lay Range assemblage and volcanics of the Upper Triassic Takla Group. These units are in fault contact with undivided sedimentary rocks, limestone, marble, calcareous sedimentary rocks, greenstone metamorphic rocks, mudstone, siltstone, shale, fine clastic sedimentary rocks, argillite, greywacke, wacke and conglomerate turbidites of the Neoproterozoic Stelkuz, Tsaydiz, Espee and Swannell formations (Ingenika Group) to the east, and an Early Jurassic quartz monzonite and monzodioritic to gabbroic intrusive exposed to the west.
Locally, a northwest trending and southeast dipping fault zone hosts a moderately to well developed area of quartz stockworking in a strongly pyritized and silica-, sericite- and iron-carbonate altered clastic metasediment. The quartz vein, up to 20 centimetres wide, hosts variable amounts of pyrite with minor chalcopyrite, galena, sphalerite and rare visible gold. Felsic dikes are also reported in the area. The fault zone and associated stockwork veining varies from 25 to 110 metres wide and has been traced for over 1900 metres along strike to the Big Billy (094D 189) occurrence located 1.2 kilometres to the south of the BB Northwest showing. The veins are thought to be at least, in part, stratabound.
In 2008, a sample (G15) yielded 1.24 grams per tonne gold over 2.5 metres (Assessment Report 30845).
In 2007 and 2008, Orestone Mining Corp. completed programs of prospecting and rock, silt and soil sampling on the area as the Laforce 1-29 claims. In 2013, the area was prospected and rock and soil sampled by J.B. Kreft.
