Capsule Geology

The Gordo 5A area is underlain by rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini (Takla) Group.

In 2004, Stealth Mineral took a sample on its Gordo 5 claim of a quartz vein contained within a 50-metre wide "swarm" zone that was composed of 50 per cent quartz veins. The quartz vein that was sampled had a strike of 305 degrees with a 90-degree dip. The vein sample was comprised of 7 per cent pyrite and chalcopyrite and assayed 3.04 grams per tonne gold, 81.4 grams per tonne silver and 0.7 per cent copper (sample 148911, Assessment Report 27638). Breccia is indicated in some descriptive capacity, most probably as characteristic of the entire zone.
