The showing called the M Veins is located about 600 metres south of Goldway Creek and 1640 metres southeast of Goldway Peak. The area is underlain by volcanic rocks of the Upper Triassic Takla Group, consisting of andesite flows, breccias, tuffs and greywackes.
In 1990, along the talus, south of Goldway Creek, numerous samples of quartz veins, proximal to their source were located. One sample (90 PS 103) was collected from the west end of this talus slope. Galena, pyrite and chalcopyrite were noted with the quartz and the sample graded 11.5 grams per tonne gold, 689.8 grams per tonne silver, 7 per cent lead, and 0.14 per cent copper (Assessment Report 21394). These samples (90 PS 103-105), contain the highest silver values on the claims, although not found in place, slabs of quartz up to 30 centimetres in width were encountered. Seven samples (90 PS 100-107) were collected in the vicinity of the M vein.
Work History
In 1990, Jetta Resources conducted work on the M Veins and Phyllite Veins (094D 027). Work consisted of further sampling of the known vein occurrences as well as prospecting of the surrounding area. Three to four persons were on the property for twelve days. Part of the program was to re-trench and resample the A-vein. During this process, the location of the previous sampling by White and Campbell (Minister of Mines Annual Report, 1947) and Phendler (Assessment Reports 11636, 13175) was attempted. Prospecting over much of the claims was undertaken, with the exception of the northern portions of Solo 1 and 3.
