Capsule Geology

The 18 DMI-8-10 occurrence is located approximately 11 kilometres northeast of Ferriston Peak, 16 kilometres west of Tenakihi Peak, about 80 kilometres northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The showing is underlain by Thane Creek suite diorite in the Early Jurassic to Early Cretaceous Hogem Plutonic Suite in Quesnel terrane. The Thane Creek suite is mostly diorite to quartz monzodiorite, with lesser hornblendite.

Mineralization is inferred to be disseminated chalcopyrite in diorite. In 2018, a grab sample (18DMI-8-10) yielded assay results of 3860 parts per million copper, 10 parts per billion gold, and 3.3 parts per million silver (Fieldwork 2018, page 48).

The showing was mapped by the British Columbia Geological Survey during a regional bedrock mapping program in the Hogem batholith in 2018.

The area was explored as the OS Property by Cyprus Gold (Canada) Ltd. in 1990.
