Capsule Geology

The 18 AB-6-3C occurrence is located approximately 7 kilometres northwest of Tenakihi Peak, 11 kilometres south of Tutizzi Lake, and about 75 kilometres northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The showing is underlain by Thane Creek suite monzodiorite in the Early Jurassic Hogem Plutonic Suite in Quesnel terrane. The Thane Creek suite is mostly diorite to quartz monzodiorite, with lesser hornblendite.

Mineralization is observed as malachite alteration and iron rust staining in diorite, aplite dikes, and carbonate veins.

Work History

In 2012, Commander Resources Ltd. completed in-fill sampling of previous geochemistry work on their Mate property which covers the 18 AB-6-3C showing. A total of 10 soil samples, 5 rock samples and 3 stream silt samples were taken and analyzed.

The showing was mapped by the British Columbia Geological Survey during a regional bedrock mapping program in the Hogem batholith in 2018. A grab sample yielded assay results of 4430 parts per million copper, 0.478 gram per tonne gold, and 4.2 parts per million silver (Fieldwork 2018, page 48).

In 2020, Interra Copper Corp. completed a program of geological mapping, geochemical (rock, soil and stream sediment) sampling and a 14.0 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the area as the Thane property. A rock sample (2369), taken from an area located approximately 450 metres to the southeast of the plotted location of the 18 AB-6-3C occurrence, yielded 0.227 per cent copper and 0.290 gram per tonne gold (Vanderwart Consulting Inc. [2021-07-12]: Technical Report on the Thane Copper-Gold Project, Omineca Mining Division, British Columbia, Canada).
