Capsule Geology

The 18 BG-31-1B occurrence is located approximately 20 kilometres southeast of Ferriston Peak, between the Omineca and Osilinka rivers, about 63 kilometres northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The showing is underlain by Thane Creek suite diorite in the Early Jurassic to Early Cretaceous Hogem Plutonic Suite in Quesnel terrane. The Thane Creek suite is mostly diorite to quartz monzodiorite, with lesser hornblendite.

Mineralization is observed as disseminated sulphide (inferred to be chalcopyrite) in diorite. In 2018, a grab sample (18bg-31-1b) yielded assay results of 5290 parts per million copper, 54 parts per billion gold, and 1.7 parts per million silver (Fieldwork 2018, page 48).

The showing was mapped by the British Columbia Geological Survey during a regional bedrock mapping program in the Hogem batholith in 2018.
