The Chuchi 2 (Chuchi South) occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1340 metres on a west-facing slope, approximately 3.7 kilometres southeast of Klawdetelle Lake.

Regionally, the area is underlain by coarse volcaniclastic, pyroclastic rocks and undivided sedimentary rocks of the Lower Jurassic Chuchi Lake Formation (Takla Group), which have been intruded by syenitic to monzonitic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Hogem Plutonic Suite. Locally, as defined by diamond drilling, potassium feldspar- and weakly sericite-altered and sheared latite flows and fragmentals with subordinate andesitic and trachytic units have been intruded and hybridized by a syenomonzonite. Disseminated and fracture-filling pyrite and magnetic are also reported.

In 1989, diamond drilling yielded intercepts of up to 0.249 gram per tonne gold over 34 metres (80 to 114 metres down hole), including 0.643 gram per tonne gold, 5.4 grams per tonne silver and 0.068 per cent copper over 8 metres (102.0 to 110.0 metres down hole) and up to 1.110 gram per tonne gold, 10.8 grams per tonne silver and 0.177 per cent copper over 2 metres in hole 89-01, whereas another drill hole (89-06), located approximately 400 metres north of the previous drillhole, intercepted zones of narrow carbonate-pyrite-galena-chalcopyrite-sphalerite veins yielding up to 0.340 gram per tonne gold, 2.5 grams per tonne silver, 0.042 per cent copper, 0.193 per cent lead and 0.454 per cent zinc over 2.0 metres (192.0 to 194.0 metres down hole; Assessment Report 20018).
