The TCH Gold showing is located at an elevation of approximately 1370 metres on a south facing slope and approximately 4.5 kilometres southwest of the southeast end of Tchentlo Lake.

The area is underlain by rocks of the Early Jurassic Hogem Plutonic Suite which intrude sedimentary rocks of the Upper Triassic Inzana Lake Formation, Takla Group.

Locally, a diorite hosts 1 per cent chalcopyrite and pyrite.

Work History

Commencing in 1989 Westmin Resources conducted an exploration program consisting of airborne Mag-VLF-HEM survey, multi-element stream sediment and soil geochemistry, geological mapping, and trenching. Most of the Westmin work appears to have occurred east of the TCH showings.

In 1991, Noranda Exploration Company Limited completed a drilling program on the property containing the occurrence. Drilling was completed on the Gibson and Nighthawk showings north of the TCH Gold occurrence.

In October 1995, Hudson Bay Exploration & Development performed a preliminary exploration program to cover open ground formally held by Westmin Resources.

In 1996, Hudson Bay Exploration and Development conducted a geochemical survey that resulted in the collection of 35 rock and 523 soil samples. Phase II of the 1996 exploration program included 8.9 kilometres of ground VLF and MAG surveys conducted over TCH-1 and a portion of the TCH-2 grid. A 30-centimetre chip sample (1296TCH252) assayed 0.625 gram per tonne gold, 4.8 grams per tonne silver and 0.0913 per cent copper (Assessment Report 24953).

In 2009, Eagle Peak Resources Inc. completed a geochemical report on the property containing the occurrence. The area of work was not on the occurrence itself.

In 2011, Serengeti Resources Inc. conducted an exploration program including line cutting, induced polarization surveying and Ah soil sampling. An aeromagnetic high was observed in the area surrounding the occurrence.

In 2012, 2015 and 2016, Rich Rock Resources Inc. conducted geochemical soil sampling reports and geophysical surveys on the property containing the occurrence. The work area was approximately 4 kilometres north of the occurrence.

In 2017, Seven Devils Exploration Ltd. completed a rock geochemistry and prospecting program on the property containing the occurrence. The work area was approximately 4 kilometres north of the occurrence.

In 2019, ArcWest Exploration Inc. completed a rock geochemistry and geological exploration program on the property containing the occurrence. The area of the occurrence was not sampled.

In 2020, Wedgemount completed a 112 line-kilometre airborne electromagnetic (VTEM) geophysical survey on the area.
