The Dave (Copperline-Driftwood East) occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1560 metres on an east-facing slope, approximately 950 metres northeast of Skutsil Knob.
The area is underlain by gently dipping, subaerial, calc-alkaline volcanic flows, tuffs and breccias, with interbedded agglomerates, sandstones, mudstones and limestones of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa and the Lower to Middle Jurassic Nilkitkwa formations, both of the Hazelton Group
Locally, tuffaceous volcanics host a vertically dipping, north-south–striking narrow zone of quartz-calcite-barite-sulphide veinlets. The sulphides are not described except to note the presence of chalcopyrite.
In 2003, an outcrop grab sample (135570) of vein material assayed 0.177 per cent copper and 229.0 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 27276).
Work History
The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby Copperline (MINFILE 093M 117) occurrence and a complete exploration history can be found there.
