An unnamed copper occurrence (#203) is located on Mount Teegee, 94 kilometres east of the community of Hazelton (Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2322).
The showing is hosted in volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa Formation (Hazelton Group). Lithologies are submarine andesitic calc-alkaline volcanics, including basalt, andesite, dacite and rhyolite flows, breccia, lapilli and ash tuff, and intercalated volcaniclastic sediments. Copper mineralization is inferred to be porphyry-style disseminated chalcopyrite hosted in the Telkwa Formation.
The Lovell Property was staked in 1998 immediately following the release by the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Geological Survey Branch, of their Regional Stream Sediment and Water Sampling program results covering the Hazelton map sheet NTS 93M. Two rock and 14 silt samples were collected by Cross Lake Minerals in 1999. Several silt samples were taken from streams that drain north from the north flank of Mount Teegee (Assessment Report 26016).
