The West Peak (One Eye 1) occurrence is located on a northwest-trending ridge of Mount Sidney Williams, approximately 4.5 kilometres northwest of the mountains peak.

The area is underlain by greenstone, greenschists, serpentinite and ultramafic rocks of the Lower Permian to Upper Triassic Rubyrock Igneous Complex and Upper Pennsylvanian to Upper Triassic Trembleur ultramafite unit, both of the Cache Creek Complex.

Locally, as the West Peak zone, disseminated awaruite and chromite mineralization occurs in peridotite, serpentinite, diorite and possible harzburgite.

In 1998, samples from the West Peak zone yielded up to 0.312 gram per tonne gold, 0.187 per cent nickel and 0.218 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 18089).

In 2000, sampling of the West Peak zone yielded up to 0.173 per cent nickel and 0.158 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 26445).

In 2002, sampling north and northeast of the West Peak zone yielded up to 0.153 and 0.175 per cent nickel with 0.173 and 0.089 per cent chromium, respectively (Assessment Report 26993).

In 2006, a sample from the West Peak area yielded up to 0.182 per cent nickel and 0.109 per cent chromium (sample 15878; Assessment Report 28806).

In 2011, samples from the West Peak area yielded up to 0.157 per cent nickel and 0.141 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 32481).

A second zone of disseminated awaruite and chromite mineralization is reported on a northwest-trending ridge, approximately 900 metres to the southwest of the West Peak zone. In 1998, sampling from the zone yielded values up to 0.164 gram per tonne gold, 0.180 per cent nickel and 0.155 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 18089).

A third zone of disseminated awaruite and chromite mineralization in a dunite is reported on a gentle ridge approximately 1.2 kilometres northwest of the West Peak zone. In 1999, seven samples (158119 to 18125) yielded from 0.128 to 0.149 per cent nickel and 0.121 to 0.186 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 26062).

A fourth zone of disseminated awaruite and chromite mineralization in a peridotite is located on a southeast-trending ridge, approximately 1.2 to 1.8 kilometres southeast of the West Peak zone. In 2000, sampling of the zone yielded up to 0.216 per cent nickel and 0.187 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 26445).

In 2002, sampling of upper Sidney Creek, below and southwest of the fourth zone, yielded up to 0.192 per cent nickel and 0.176 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 26993).

In 2006, samples taken down slope to the southwest of the fourth zone yielded up to 0.173 per cent nickel and 0.145 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 28806).

In 2008, rock samples taken down slope to the north of the fourth zone yielded up to 0.160 per cent nickel and 0.116 per cent chromium (Assessment Report 30473).

Another zone of mineralization comprising a silicified argillite with gold values is located near the outlet of West Lake, approximately 1.5 kilometres to the east of the West Peak zone. In 1988, a rock sample (5497) assayed 0.830 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 18089).
