Capsule Geology

The Tsit 1 occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1840 metres on an east-trending ridge of Tsitsutl Mountain.

Regionally, mudstone, siltstone, shale, fine clastic sedimentary rocks and greenstone to ultramafic rocks of the Lower Permian to Upper Jurassic Cache Creek Complex have been intruded by Lower Cretaceous granodioritic rocks.

Locally, chromite mineralization is reported to occur near the contact of Cache Creek group rocks and a granodiorite intrusive.

Work History

In 1996, Spokane Resources Ltd. prospected and sampled the area as the Tsit 1 claim. A rock sample (53225) assayed 0.306 per cent nickel, 0.132 per cent chromium and 0.015 per cent cobalt (Assessment Report 24520).
