The Godwin showing occurs within a region underlain dominantly by Mississippian to Triassic Cache Creek Group rocks.

In the area of the showing, these consist of deformed cherty quartzite. Small, irregular fractures in these rocks contain pyrolusite and psilomelane. Small pockets of high grade manganese occur in areas of most intense fracturing.
