The Genesis occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 780 metres on a small north-south–trending ridge, approximately 2 kilometres east of Gunniza Lake.
Regionally, the area is underlain by basaltic volcanic rocks of the Mississippian to Permian Antler Formation and fine clastic sedimentary rocks and basaltic volcanic rocks of the Middle to Upper Triassic Takla Group.
Locally, a limonite-jarosite–altered quartz vein hosts pyrite and arsenopyrite mineralization. A second mineralized quartz vein, up to 0.34 metre wide and associated with an altered shear zone, is located approximately 100 metres east-northeast of the previous vein.
In 2017, three rock samples (582011 through 582013) from the first vein yielded from 4.54 to 7.22 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 37728).
In 2018, 10 samples (52103 and 583801 through 583808) from the first vein assayed from 0.99 to 5.59 grams per tonne gold and 8 samples (582136 to 582137 and 582156 to 582161) from the second vein yielded from 0.142 to 0.362 gram per tonne gold, whereas a sample (GZS-3) from the shear zone yielded 2.31 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 37729).
In 2019, rock samples from trenches T1 and T4 yielded up to 23.20 and 6.47 grams per tonne gold, respectively, whereas channel samples from trenches T1 and T4 yielded up to 4.70 and 3.95 grams per tonne gold over 0.50 and 1.50 metres, respectively (Assessment Report 38937).
Work History
During 2017 through 2020, Exodus Mineral Exploration Ltd. completed programs of prospecting, trenching and geochemical (rock and soil) sampling on the area as the Genesis property. In 2022, Exodus Mineral Exploration completed a 1377.0 line-kilometre airborne magnetic and radiometric survey on the Exodus Gold property.
