The Jesse and Chad area is underlain by Upper Proterozoic greenstone and metamorphic rocks of the Snowshoe Group. Rocks noted on the property were described as grits, quartzites and phyllites.
In 1987, Tex Gold Resources Ltd conducted a program of soil sampling and trenching. Trenching was mainly confined to logging roads and though limited, resulted in the discovery of gold-bearing quartz vein. Sample values of these veins yielded up to 0.89 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 19693).
Tex Gold followed in 1988 with a soil geochemical survey, collecting 537 samples, and a ground magnetometer survey, covering 32 line kilometers.
