The Key West showing is located on the Key property west of Tsacha Mountain, near the headwaters of Mathews Creek. The showing was discovered in 2010 by Troymet Exploration Corp through geophysical IP surveys. The area is underlain by volcanic rock Lower and Middle Jurassic - Hazelton Group, Naglico Formation.

The most significant result from 2010 was from a rock sample (I006978) from an outcrop exposed in a gravel pit along a road cut in the western part of the Key property. This grab sample was from a 1 centimetre wide cross cutting vein in rusty, oxidized, highly siliceous medium-grained felsic volcanic, with 5 to 7 per cent pyrite and assaying 4.57 grams per tonne gold, 15.1 grams per tonne silver, 0.17 per cent copper and 0.019 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 33068).

Drillholes 1 to 6 were drilled at the Key West (Green zone) in 2011. Drill holes Key-01, 02 and 03 were drilled to test a coincident IP chargeability anomaly where the rock sample containing the 4.57 grams per tonne gold was collected. The best result was 0.022 gram per tonne gold over 0.50 metre (Assessment Report 33068). Drill hole Key-04 was drilled to test airborne conductor P2. A weakly anomalous zone was intercepted from 90.53 to 101.35 metres (10.82 metres length), which assayed 0.055 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 33068). Drill holes Key-05 and Key-06 were drilled to test IP chargeability anomaly IP-2 and airborne conductor P1B, respectively. Both holes intersected similar rock types, consisting of intermediate volcaniclastics and flows and a plagioclase porphyry dike at the top of Key-06. Neither hole yielded significant assays.

Work History

In 2010, Troymet Exploration Corp. conducted an IP geophysical survey and rock, stream sediment and soil sampling on the property. Highlights include sample I006978, which assayed 4.57 grams per tonne gold and 15.1 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 31702).

In 2011, Troymet Exploration Corp. completed an exploration program of soil geochemical surveys, line cutting, IP surveys and diamond drilling.

In 2012, Troymet Exploration Corp. conducted infill soil sampling, prospecting, line cutting, IP surveys and drilling. Highlights include grab sample HGS-091c, which assayed 12.65 grams per tonne gold, 81.4 grams per tonne silver and 1.7 per cent zinc (Press Release, Troymet Exploration Corp., January 14, 2013).

In 2014, New Gold Inc. completed a program silt and till (indicator mineral) sampling on the area as apart of the Blackwater and Capoose properties.
