The Blackwater West property is located approximately 170 kilometres west of Quesnel and 40 kilometres south of Natalkuz Lake.
The property is underlain by the lava flows and tuffs of the Lower to Middle Jurassic Naglico Formation (Hazelton Group) and the Middle Eocene Ootsa Lake Group. Mineralization occurs as pyrite, sphalerite and galena in quartz stringers in rhyolite and pyrite in silicified breccia.
In 2011, RJK Explorations Ltd. executed an exploration program that included electromagnetic (EM) and induced polarization (IP) geophysical surveys, and soil and rock sampling. In 2012, RJK Explorations Ltd. completed a 780-metre diamond drill program on the West Grid 4 soil anomaly. Highlights include drillhole BWW-12-03, which assayed 2.784 grams per tonne silver, 0.005 gram per tonne gold, 0.291 per cent zinc, 0.243 per cent lead, 0.009 per cent copper and 0.0020 per cent cadmium over 37 metres (Press Release, RJK Explorations Ltd., December 28, 2012).
In December 2013, RJK Explorations reported further drilling at West Grid 4. The drilling tested a 500 metre wide section of a larger (1300 metres) geophysical anomaly; 371 metres were drilled in three drillholes. Results are outlined in the table below:
(RJK Explorations Ltd. Press Release - December 10, 2013).
