The Cole 7 occurrence is located approximately 1 kilometre south of Troitsa Lake and 8 kilometres east of the lakes western end.
The area is underlain by calc-alkaline rocks of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa Formation (Hazelton Group) and andesitic volcanic rocks of the Cretaceous Kasalka Group which have been intruded by quartz dioritic and feldspar porphyry intrusive of the Upper Cretaceous Bulkley Plutonic Suite.
Locally, a volcanic host contains malachite and chalcocite. Carbonate alteration and silicification are also reported.
In 2010, two rock samples (147001 and 147003) assayed 0.008 and 0.202 gram per tonne gold, 23.1 and 96.7 grams per tonne silver with 1.19 and 4.89 per cent copper (Deveaux, P.J. (2011-05-06): Coles Creek Exploration Update, 2010).
The area has been explored in conjunction with the Fab (MINFILE 093E 041) occurrence and full work and exploration history of the area can be found there.
