The Tro area is underlain by the Upper Cretaceous granodiorite-quartz monzonite Troitsa stock (Bulkley Plutonic Suite). The stock intrudes volcanics of the Cretaceous Kasalka Group and the Jurassic Hazelton Group (Telkwa Formation).
Sampling in 2013 resulted in a number of mineralized samples being taken in a discrete area south of the Main zone. A 5 to 10 centimetre wide quartz and sulfide filled fracture assayed 0.069 per cent copper 6.7 grams per tonne silver and 0.126 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 34785). A 30 centimetre wide sample of altered material with malachite staining and chalcopyrite on fracture surfaces was observed and chlorite and sericite alteration is noted. A high grade sample of material from a 1 centimetre veinlet within the altered zone assayed 1.8 per cent copper, 16.7 grams per tonne silver and 0.12 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 34785).
In the same area, a 20 centimetre chip across a well mineralized chalcopyrite, molybdenum and pyrite vein assayed 0.01 per cent copper, 0.284 per cent molybdenum, 2.4 grams per tonne silver and 0.06 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 34785).
