The Lunar 4 showing is hosted in rocks of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa Formation, Hazelton Group. A small Eocene stock of the Coast Plutonic Complex intrudes the strata to the immediate southwest of the area. Extensive masses of quartz diorite of the Middle Jurassic Trapper Plutonic Suite intrude to the north, west and south.
The north-trending west-dipping zone encompasses a 700 by 50 metre area centered about the fault contact between rhyolite and andesitic tuffs. The fault contact has weak attendant quartz veining throughout, with the veins generally being 1 to 5 centimetres in thickness. Traces of pyrite are disseminated throughout the host, while the quartz veins have both minor pyrite and chalcopyrite. Due to oxidation the zone has a pronounced gossan associated with it. A series of chip samples taken across the strike of the zone failed to detect any significant mineralized areas (Assessment Report 16757).
