The Bird showing is hosted in rocks of the Lower Jurassic Telkwa Formation, Hazelton Group. A small Eocene stock of the Coast Plutonic Complex intrudes the strata to the immediate southwest of the area. Extensive masses of quartz diorite of the Middle Jurassic Trapper Plutonic Suite intrude to the north, west and south.
The Bird showing was discovered in 2007 on the New Moon property of Anglo Columbia Mines Inc. Mineralization consists predominately of chalcopyrite with lesser galena, sphalerite and bornite. It occurs as an up to three metre vein/lens of mineralization situated on the margin of a mafic dike that has subsequently been offset by a small fault. The strike extent is at least 50 metres, but is likely much larger as it trends into areas that are not easily accessible.
A number of grab and chip samples were taken from the Bird Showing yielding favourable copper results. Chip samples 07RTC624 contained 3.18 per cent copper, 0.14 gram per tonne gold and 87 grams per tonne silver over 1.75 metres (Assessment Report 29585). The sample consisted of rhyolitic welded crystal-lithic tuff.
