The occurrence area is largely underlain by Paleozoic Gamsby Group felsic and mafic tuffs, lesser volcanogenic sandstone and one or more limestone/marble and skarn members up to 200 metres thick. These rocks have all undergone greenschist facies meta- morphism. Coast Plutonic Complex granites and quartz monzonites of Eocene age occur along the southern part of the occurring area. Highly erratic copper and silver mineralization is associated with two skarns. The mineralization consists of chalcopyrite, malachite, magnetite and pyrrhotite.
