The FIT showing is located in the Chilcotin Plateau, 11.5 kilometres west of Puntzi Lake, approximately 16 kilometres northwest of the community of Chilanko Forks on Highway 20 and 144 kilometres west of Williams Lake, B.C.
The area is underlain by Lower Jurassic Chilanko intrusive complex rocks, including a medium-grained tonalite body that underlies Fit Mountain. Locally, scattered tonalite outcrops over a 50 metre area, contain veinlets and disseminations of chalcopyrite and lesser bornite with epidote-magnetite-chlorite-quartz-calcite veining, accompanied by chlorite-magnetite alteration.
In 2009, the Fit Mountain copper showings were staked by B.K. Bowen and he prospected the area through 2010. Sampling of the zone has returned up to 1861 parts per million copper, 2226 parts per billion silver and 20 parts per billion gold (MM108-6-3; Assessment Report 32123). In 2011, Serengetti Resources Inc. conducted cursory rock sampling over the Fit and Fit NW showings with no results of significance.
