The Bysouth or Copper Ace North property is located between Quesnel and Williams Lake, approximately 10 kilometres north-northwest of the Gibraltar Mine site (093B 012) and approximately 9 kilometres east of Highway 97 near Alexandria. Access to the property is via the Moffat Lake Road, which exits on the east side of Highway 97, approximately 43 kilometres south of Quesnel, or 32 kilometres north of Mcleese Lake.

Discovered in 1998 by United Gunn Resources, the Bysouth showing on the Copper Ace North Grid, consists of medium to coarse grained disseminated chalcopyrite and pyrite with malachite and azurite in a silica-rich breccia zone. Hostrocks are chlorite-sericite altered quartz diorite, of the Early Jurassic Granite Mountain pluton. The breccia zone is up to 125 metres wide and has been traced by magnetic and IP surveys along strike to the northwest for some 1325 metres. The structure remains open to the northwest and southeast. Rock grab samples from outcrop of the mineralized quartz breccia contain up to 7.2 per cent copper (Exploration in BC 1998, page A10).

In the area of the Copper Ace property limited exploration work has been carried out intermittently since the 1960s. In 1968, Morocco Mines carried out an induced polarization (IP) survey just to the south of the Copper Ace south grid, on ground now owned by Gibraltar Mines. In 1972, a wide spaced IP survey was conducted on ground currently covered by the Copper Ace north grid. In 1997, limited silt sampling and prospecting was carried out by Crest Geological Consultants Ltd. on behalf of United Gunn Resources Ltd. during staking of the Copper Ace property. During the period of November 2004, Bell Resources Corporation (as operator) financed the completion of nine diamond-drill holes totalling 1496.57 metres on the claims optioned from Copper Ridge Explorations Inc.
