The Pine showing, comprising mineralized quartz veins within metasedimentary rocks of the Upper Proterozoic-Paleozoic Snowshoe Group, is located along Pine Creek, one kilometre northwest of where it empties into Cariboo Lake. Metasediments comprise phyllite, siltstone and quartzite.
The main occurrence is described as quartz veins, 1 centimetre wide, containing galena, sphalerite and pyrite (Assessment Report 11117, sample RX 046431). A separate quartz vein, 120 metres downstream, is 17 centimetres wide and contains fine galena (Assessment Report 11117, sample RX 046434). Samples analysed from both locations returned negligible gold values (Assessment Report 11117).
In 1981, Canadian Nickel Company Limited conducted prospecting, geological and geochemical surveys. The 1982 program included gridding, prospecting, geological, geochemical and geophysical surveys. In 1983, Quinto Mining Corporation conduced reconnaissance geological mapping, rock and soil sampling.
