The Gold Cutter occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1250 metres on a generally east-facing slope, north of Peterson Creek and approximately 7.5 kilometres southwest of Darfield.

The area is underlain by metasediments of the Harper Ranch Group, which includes limestone, siltstone, shale, volcaniclastic sandstone and local volcanic rocks as well as volcanic rocks of the Eocene Skull Hill Formation (Kamloops Group). The Skull Hill Formation is mainly dacite, trachyte, basalt, rhyolite and related breccias. The metasediments are intruded by Mesozoic granites, diorites and syenites. Locally, the metasediments are intruded by an elongated, north to south, medium to coarse syenite. Proximal to the intrusions the sediments appear more 'cooked' and pyrite is more abundant.

Mineralization consists of galena, chalcopyrite and pyrite and is confined to quartz veins, veinlets and stockworks in at least three, and possibly four, distinct zones referred to as the Central Discovery, North and South zones. The veins are hosted in outcrops of crowded feldspar porphyry or syenite, which is intruding grey to black hornfelsed sedimentary rocks (siltstones and fine sandstones). The quartz systems can be traced for approximately 1.2 kilometres north-south and for approximately 0.6 kilometres east-west.

In 2003, one sample of the outcrop from the Central Discovery zone yielded 0.417 gram per tonne gold and 26.5 grams per tonne silver, whereas float samples from the vicinity of the outcrop yielded values up to 34.66 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 27243).

In 2009, outcrop samples from the Central Discovery zone returned up to 17.23 grams per tonne gold, 66.8 grams per tonne silver and greater than 1.00 per cent lead (Assessment Report 31670).

In 2012, a sample from a vein striking 070 degrees on the North zone assayed 39.6 grams per tonne gold, 88 grams per tonne silver and 0.013 per cent molybdenum (Assessment Report 33423).

In 2017, 12 samples from the Central Discovery zone yielded 0.20 to 4.5 grams per tonne gold and 2.1 to 20.5 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 36970).

In 2020, a sample from a massive, 1-metre-wide quartz vein hosting galena and chalcopyrite in breccia of wallrock inclusions from the South zone assayed 2.5 grams per tonne gold, 23 grams per tonne silver and 0.021 per cent molybdenum, whereas a sample from a 0.12-metre-wide quartz vein on the North zone yielded 3.96 grams per tonne gold, 40 grams per tonne silver and 0.024 per cent molybdenum (Bravewolf Consulting [2021-02-09]: NI 43-101 TECHNICAL REPORT on the Gold Cutter Project, Central British Columbia).

Work History

The Gold Cutter 1-2 claims were originally staked in 2002 by R.J. Bilquist and a program of prospecting was completed over the next year. The claims were subsequently allowed to lapse before being re-staked in 2009 by R.J. Bilquist. During 2012 through 2019, R.J. Bilquist completed further programs of prospecting, geological mapping and rock sampling on the area.

In 2020, Silverstock Metals Inc. completed a program of geological mapping, geochemical (rock and soil) sampling and an airborne (drone) magnetometer survey on the area as the Gold Cutter property.
