Capsule Geology

The Syndicate occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 2150 metres on a northeast-facing slope, south of the Taseko River and approximately 3.8 kilometres northeast of Mount McClure, 147 kilometres southwest of Williams Lake, B.C.

The area is underlain by granodioritic intrusive rocks of the Upper Cretaceous Coast Plutonic Complex. Mixed volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Falls River Formation (Taylor Creek Group) are exposed to the north.

Locally, a Cretaceous multi-stage hydrothermal breccia with silicification hosts disseminated sulphides. Local potassic alteration and pre-breccia magnetite veins are reported to be common.

Porphyry copper-molybdenum-gold mineralization has been identified and defined by diamond drilling. The exact style of mineralization is not described but is likely similar to that of the nearby Empress (MINFILE 092O 033) occurrence.

Work History

The area has been explored in conjunction with the nearby Empress (MINFILE 092O 033) occurrence and a complete regional exploration history can be found there.

In 2008, Galore Resources completed two diamond drill holes, totalling 480.4 metres, on the Syndicate area. Drillhole 08TK-09 yielded 0.17 per cent copper, 0.039 per cent molybdenum, 0.5 gram per tonne silver and 0.066 gram per tonne gold over 43.50 metres, whereas drillhole 08TSK-11 yielded two 18.00-metre intercepts grading 0.36 and 0.54 per cent copper, 0.025 and 0.012 per cent molybdenum, 2.5 and 9.3 grams per tonne silver with 0.160 and 0.607 gram per tonne gold, respectively (Rebagliati, C.M., Titley, E. [2020-05-29]: Technical Report Summarizing Exploration Work on the IKE Cu-Mo-Au-Ag Project, British Columbia, Canada).

During 2014 through 2019, Amarc Resources Ltd. completed programs of geological mapping, geochemical (talus fines, rock chip and stream sediment) sampling, 163.6 line-kilometres of induced polarization surveys, 1069 line-kilometres of airborne magnetic surveys and 18 157 metres of diamond drilling on the area as part of the IKE project. The majority of the drilling (15 455.34 metres in 26 holes) was completed on the IKE (MINFILE 092O 025) occurrence. The SYNDICATE occurrence lies within Amarc's Empress high-grade copper-gold-silver deposit area (PR REL Jan 19, 2021).
